Weekly Update

14 Weeks

My baby bump at 14 weeks from the side:

And from the front:

Total Weight Gain: I gained a pound this week! That puts me back to being down only 6 lbs so far.

Maternity Clothes: I wear at least one piece of maternity clothing almost every day.  So comfy!

Sleep:  Still good at this point, though I am sure that being uncomfortable sitting up will soon move to being uncomfortable laying down.

Movement: I still haven’t felt anything yet, but I can’t wait to feel those first flutters.

Boy or Girl? Still don’t know.  Hopefully we can find out the first of September; this waiting is killing me!

Food Cravings: Apples.  I really really really want a GOOD apple.  Fall cannot get here fast enough!

Food Aversions: Nothing!

What I Miss: Being able to comfortably sit in a chair for any length of time.  I can’t believe this has started already.  Yay!

Size of Baby: Lemon (about 3 inches and 1.5 oz)

Baby’s Development:  At this point, baby is on the move almost constantly.  Baby could also be sprouting some hair, and his or her eyebrows have started to fill in.

Best Part of this Week: Being at the beach.  I loved getting to relax by the ocean and catch up with friends and family I haven’t seen in a while.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Feeling Little Sprout move.  I know it could still be another few weeks before I feel something, but I can’t wait!
Weekly Update

13 Weeks

My baby bump at 13 weeks from the side:

And from the front:

Total Weight Gain: Lost 7 lbs so far.  (I lost another .5 lbs this week…hopefully I will start going the other way now.)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity bottoms.  I have worn a couple of maternity shirts, but just because I have them and they are cute.

Sleep: I sleep pretty well at night, but most days I still wake up tired.  That could be because I need to go to bed earlier, but since I have gotten some of my energy back I find myself staying up later.

Movement: I haven’t felt anything yet, but I can’t wait until I can feel those first little flutters.

Boy or Girl? Still don’t know, but I can’t wait to find out.

Food Cravings: This past week, I have really wanted an Icee, but I still haven’t gotten one.  I also really want a juicy, crispy apple, but since it isn’t apple season, none of the grocery stores have good ones.  I am so ready to go apple picking this fall.

Food Aversions: Absolutely nothing.  I am a normal person again!!!

What I Miss: Nothing…I am loving being pregnant right now!

Size of Baby: Peach (about 3 inches)

Baby’s Development:  Baby’s body is growing rapidly to catch up to the head.  Baby’s head is now about half the size of its body.  Baby’s intestines have started moving to their permanent place in baby’s abdomen.  Over the past week, baby’s vocal chords have started to develop.

Best Part of this Week: Getting to hear our little sprout’s heartbeat at my 12 week appointment.

What I’m Looking Forward To: Being at the beach!  Although I guess that doesn’t really count since I am at the beach right now!

Weekly Update

12 Weeks

My baby bump at 12 weeks from the side:

And from the front:

Total Weight Gain: Lost 6.5 lbs so far.  (No change this week.)

Maternity Clothes: I can officially no longer wear regular pants, unless they have an elastic waistband.  So, at this point, I am wearing mostly maternity pants with regular tops, skirts, or dresses.

Sleep: Pretty good, except for the middle of the night bathroom trips.

Movement: I’m sure our little sprout is wiggling, but he or she is still too small for me to feel anything.

Boy or Girl? We should find out in September.

Food Cravings: I haven’t really had any cravings lately, but I am starting to eat like a normal person again.

Food Aversions: Not really anything.  Yay!!!

What I Miss: Nothing…I am loving being pregnant right now!

Size of Baby: Large Plum (2.5 inches long, weighs about .5 oz.)

Baby’s Development: Baby is pretty much done with the task of developing new bodily structures and is entering the maintenance phase.  Over the past week, the fetal digestive system has started to practice contraction movements, a skill it will need after birth.  The pituitary gland has started producing hormones, and the bone marrow is now making white blood cells.

Best Part of this Week: Yesterday, Corey, Mom and I went to Buy Buy Baby to look at baby things.  We picked out the stroller, car seat, and pack n play.  It was so much fun looking at all the sweet little baby things!

What I’m Looking Forward To: My next appointment is Wednesday.  Hopefully, we will get to hear a little heartbeat!
