Letters to Baby

Dear Cullen,

This afternoon I went apple picking with your Sugar (Mommy’s mom).  We had such a good time. We were talking about how next year we will get to take you with us. And hopefully we can convince your Daddy, grandpa, and uncles to go with us.  We love these men, but they aren’t usually up for family outings. I think if you are there, we won’t have to do much convincing!

You will still be too young to really enjoy picking apples, but there are other fun things like seeing the animals and riding in a wagon! I can’t wait to include you in such a fun fall tradition!

On another note, I think your Uncle Travi is upset I haven’t written you lately. I will try to do better. (For you and for him!)

Keep growing healthy and strong in there Little One. I love feeling your little kicks and wiggles; I feel like I am already getting to know you.

Love,
Mommy

Letters to Baby

Dear Cullen,

I can call you by name now!  I am so excited that you are a little boy!  And Daddy and I have picked the perfect name for you.  Deciding on your name wasn’t as difficult as I expected it to be.  As soon as we found out you are a boy and saw your sweet little face, we knew Cullen Todd was perfect.  I feel like it already suits you.

You are a wiggly little guy!  I feel your kicks, punches, and squirms all the time now.  And you would not be still at the ultrasound earlier this week.  They had a hard time getting a good picture of you because you wouldn’t stop moving; every time they would get to where we could see you, you moved again.  I don’t think you like having your picture taken.  You kept crossing your arms in front of your face and turning your face away from us…already just like your Daddy.  You better get used to it though; I will want to capture every moment once you get here.

I can’t believe you will be here in about four short months!  It is amazing how quickly time is passing.  Daddy and I have so much to do to get ready for you.  Right now we are working on getting every room in the house cleaned and organized so that we can really get started on your nursery.  I am excited about painting your room, setting up your furniture, and making your quilt.  It will all be uniquely you, and I can’t wait to see you in that room!

Keep growing healthy and strong, little one!

Love,
Mommy

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

I feel like a lot has happened since the last time I wrote you a note.  Last week I went to the doctor again and got to hear your heartbeat and your sweet little kicks.  We also scheduled the next ultrasound.  Are you a boy or a girl?  We should know in about 3 weeks!

We have also done some more planning for your nursery.  I think we have picked out the perfect paint color.  We got your crib last week and have decided to use a family rocking chair.  I can’t wait to rock you in it and read lots of books!  I have the supplies to make your mobile and have picked out the fabric for your bedding.  Once we know if you will be into pink or blue, Daddy and I will start getting everything ready.

I can’t believe you will be here in just a little over five months!  It seems like you will be in our arms in no time.  I get more and more excited every day!  I love you so much already, Little One!

Love,
Mommy

Dear Sprout,

As each day comes and goes, it seems like you’ll be coming home in no time.  I’m really excited to see if you’ll be into football or tea parties.

While I always say you must be a boy, I know it really won’t matter to me.  You are really going to mix things up around here.  I’ll try my best to be ready for you.

Take your time to grow big and strong…but not so much so for your mother’s sake.  See you soon!

Love,
Daddy

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

There has been a lot going on these past couple of weeks.  About a week and a half ago, your daddy and I went back to the doctor to make sure that you and I were doing okay.  Everything went great, and Daddy and I got to hear your heartbeat.  It made me so happy to be able to hear that you are doing well and growing strong!

This last week we went on our annual family beach trip.  I can’t wait until next year when you get to join us.  I can’t wait for naps on the beach, splashing in the water, and digging in the sand (although you’ll still be too small for some of that next year.)  Everyone else is excited for you be there too.  Your grandpa is excited about having someone else to dig his world famous holes for and build sandcastles with.  And I am sure that next year your Uncle Travi will ask for your help in talking to the ladies.

There is still a lot to do before next year though.  It is time to start getting ready for your arrival.  I feel like there is so much to do, but it is going to be so much fun!

Keep growing healthy and strong little sprout!  I love you lots!

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

Hello little one!  I can’t believe you have been growing for almost 12 weeks now.  It seems like just yesterday I was waking your daddy up super early to tell him about you.  Some days it seems like January will be here in no time, and I will have to hurry to get everything ready for you.  Other days it seems like it will be forever before I get to see your sweet little face.

I love you so much and can’t wait until the day that I get to hold you in my arms.  I think everyone in our family feels that way.  Your grandparents, aunt, and uncles are just as excited as we are.  Your Uncle Travi was gone for over a week recently on a mission trip.  As soon as he had phone service again, he sent me a message to ask how you were doing.  You are going to be so loved and spoiled.  I hope you are ready for lots of cuddling, hugs, and kisses!

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

One thing you will learn about me is that I am a planner.  I like to plan for things and I like to plan early.  As soon as I found out you were coming, I started planning.  I have made list after list of what we need to do and buy before you get here in January.  I have researched nursery furniture, picked out your crib, and looked at strollers and car seats.

I think we are finally out of the planning stage and are into the preparing stage.  This past weekend we went shopping for furniture for your nursery.  We went by a little thrift/antique store and got your dresser and changing table.  I am so excited that we have finally started getting things ready for you.  I also bought something for a wall in your nursery.  I can’t wait until we get everything ready for you.  I am glad we still have a while to go though.  We have a lot to do to get ready for your arrival!

I love you little one!

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

This has been such an exciting week!  Daddy and I finally got to see you and your little heartbeat!  We went to the doctor on Monday to have our first ultrasound.  I nearly cried when the doctor turned the screen so that we could see you.  You are so tiny, but we immediately saw your little heart beating so strong.  You even wiggled a few times for us.

I love knowing that you really are with us and growing.  Any doubts that I had are gone.  God has created you and is already working to make you a perfect little baby.

The doctor gave us two pictures of you.  I think I spent hours after we left the doctor’s office just looking at you in those little pictures.  Your Daddy said I never stopped smiling.  We love you so much little sprout, and love you more and more every day!  I can’t wait until the day I get to hold you in my arms.  But for now, keep growing healthy and strong.

Love,
Mommy

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

I cannot believe that you have been growing now for nearly nine weeks!  That means that Daddy and I will finally get to hear your little heartbeat soon!  Monday we will go to the doctor to make sure you are growing healthy and strong.  I feel like I have been waiting to see you for so long!

Then, after we know that all is well with you, we are going to tell everyone about you.  Your daddy and grandparents are busting at the seams to tell everyone they meet that you will be joining our family.  And you are already making my tummy look a little bigger, so I am going to have to start telling everyone about you anyway…before they guess on their own.

This next week should be pretty exciting for everyone.  Seeing you, hearing your heartbeat, and seeing the looks on the faces of all our family and friends when we share our good news with them.  I love you so much little one, and I can’t wait to have proof that you are growing and to tell everyone about you!  Keeping growing healthy and strong.

Mommy

Letters to Baby

Dear Sprout,

I just want to let you know how much Daddy and I love you already.  I think about you just about every minute of every day.  I never thought I could love something, or someone, so small this much!  You have been growing for almost 7 weeks now.  You are only about 1/4 of an inch long.  That’s tiny; about the size of a sweet pea.  You are doing a lot of changing right now.   Your sweet little face is starting to form, and I can’t wait to see it!

Every day, Daddy gets more and more excited about you.  He is having a really hard time keeping you as a secret.  He wants to tell everyone that you are on your way.  I might let him start telling people after we hear your heartbeat.  That means he only has to wait another three weeks or so.

I cannot wait to hear your heartbeat; to have that proof that you really are there.  The only proof that I have so far is how tired I have been and the little bit of queasiness I feel some days.  I don’t mind those though.  It’s just a reminder that we will have a little one in our lives before long.

Keep growing healthy and strong, little sprout.  These next 7 and a half months will fly by, and then you will be in our arms before we know it.  I can hardly wait until then.  When I will finally get to see you and watch you grow and get to know who you will become.  You truly are a miracle.  God is already forming you into the wonderful person you will be.  He already knows everything about you.  And as much as Mommy and Daddy love you, God already loves you so much more.  I hope you feel loved little one!

Love,
Mommy
